Neuroclacks Committee Integrity Policy
1. Purpose This policy establishes standards of integrity for Neuroclacks committee members, ensuring accountability, transparency, and ethical decision-making. Committee members must act in the best interests of Neuroclacks, avoiding conflicts of interest and maintaining trust within the community.
2. Principles of Integrity Committee members must:
Act honestly and ethically in all matters related to Neuroclacks.
Treat all members with respect, fairness, and dignity.
Ensure transparency in decision-making and communication.
Maintain confidentiality where required and respect personal data privacy.
Avoid using their position for personal or financial gain.
3. Conflict of Interest A conflict of interest arises when a committee member’s personal, professional, or financial interests could interfere with their duties to Neuroclacks.
Members must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest to the committee as soon as they arise.
Members must not influence decisions from which they, their family, or close associates could personally benefit.
Where a conflict exists, members may be required to abstain from discussions or votes on related matters.
4. Accountability and Decision-Making
Decisions must be made in the best interests of Neuroclacks and its members.
Members must uphold the values of inclusivity and safety, ensuring Neuroclacks remains a welcoming space.
Any unethical behaviour, misconduct, or breaches of this policy should be reported to the committee for review.
5. Confidentiality and Data Protection
Committee members must not share sensitive information about Neuroclacks or its members outside the organisation, in line with Safer Spaces, but of course can promote Neuroclacks on social media in line with our Data Protection Policy.
Any personal data obtained through committee work must be handled in line with Neuroclacks' Data Protection Policy.
6. Consequences of Breaching This Policy Failure to adhere to this policy may result in disciplinary actions, including removal from the committee, depending on the severity of the breach.
7. Review and Amendments This policy will be reviewed annually or as required to ensure it remains relevant and effective.
